I remember he made the effort to travel down to London and play KOF at my 3v3 event, which is admirable in itself since he’s more well known for being a 3S player.
He was easy going, fun, and nice to everyone. Quite upset to see a member of the FGC fade away like this.

I don’t know any more details than this right now, and it doesn’t sound like a hoax 🙁 It’s just sad.
