Kani Doraki is a famous chain of seafood restaurants which you can find in Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo and probably other places too.  It was featured in the Like a Dragon series.

I think there’s famous for something… fishy?  Or was it bread?  Nah, it’s probably crab, guessing from the red spider (kek) on the front. WHICH MOVES. My god, I was scared, wondering if I was caught in some Godzilla scene.

The food in Kani Doraku is high quality and not cheap!  Perhaps the best prepared crab you’ll ever have?  Here is a pic of the real store in Osaka.

The guy with the stick was trying to pick a fight with an old granny so I threw a bicycle at him and he dropped 10K before screaming and running away.  Good times.

Then in 2023, I took some pics during a visit to the Ueno store in Tokyo. The Snow Crab is crazy good.

As you can see, the presentation is top notch.  I’m not even a fan of seafood but the dishes certainly make for good photos.

There is tempura for those forced to visit by a companion or family.  My companion raved about the quality and taste.  The tempura was certainly good, light, crispy yet fluffy, with fresh vegetables.

You can also notice the ice served to keep the food cool is shaved, not cubed.  Meticulous attention to detail.

You can reserve a table, or a booth, or a table for a quick meal, or short keiseki (full course) lunch or dinner.  It’s not recommended to just turn up, but you may be lucky.
