Well I’ve just returned to my hotel from Hey! in Akiba.? XIII is gone, and so has XII!? There are now THREE 2k2um machines in a prime spot, and on a Monday night, were getting hot play.? The old skool rules here.? The 98 10 yen machine is still here too.? XII’s spot was taken by Blazblue CS…? I’m going to check out some more arcades to see what’s up.

if you like yodobashi’s prices, go to shinjuku, which has branches with more stock. shinjuku is also 2k2um country. spot21 has 2 games for 100 yen, although sega around the corner is gearing up for tougeki qualifiers on the 20th. k’ kula foxy kasumi chang nameless kusanagi fest

hi there! i bought my parts from mak japan, nice guy as reported! akiba has lots of crappy pc shops, i would still check out yodobashi camera and sofmap then compare prices. i might be at hey at the ten yen 98 on thurs. its my last night. i got my first two wins today of the whole trip. at sf4. and i suck. in asakusa the adores arcade got rid of all its fighters and replaced them with gambling machines 🙁

Thanks for all the info you have posted about Japan. I will be there on Thursday of this week (4/14/10) so I will be going to arcades alot. Do you ever go to stores such as Mak or Gfront to buy arcade games? Also whats a good store to get computer parts (video cards) while in japan. Thanks again.

I was hoping to take a lot of (illegal) pics, hehe. I noticed the new Arcadia mag was out with some XIII news but I guess somebody’s already scanned it by now. It’s quite expensive, 1,280 yen which works out to around 10 GBP…

Lodging is costing about 40 GBP a night. Crime is low and I’ve heard about people just sleeping on the bench. I noted there are quite a few homeless too that sleep in the shopping centres… so that’s one way to save money!

I took a few pics of a few arcades in Akiba to fix up the guide. Some nice little SNK corners there.

Saw Fatal Fury Special on Neogeo Cart for 638 yen. That’s like 6 GBP. My friend says that’s too expensive but I think I might buy it anyway for nostalgia’s sake. On Ebay it’s around 25 GBP!

Looking around the anime shops, there’s some ridiculous FFXIII merchandise, but frankly I don’t think anyone’s buying, there’s more hype over EVA 2.0. Persona 4 merchandise seems to have exploded for some reason. K-ON has become really popular too.

Picked up some more little gashapon type KOF figures I’ll be giving away later. I saw the HUGE 15th anniversary Mai. She is damn hot but noway could I leave that on my shelf without looking like a serious hentai. Or maybe that’s not a bad thing?

The Maid cafe thing is starting to feel like harassment. These girls are all over the place and some of them really would be better mopping the floor rather than serving me tea.

Food is cheap-ish, but yeah… save your money and book your flight ticket and hostel at least 3 months in advance to get the lowest price! Going with a buddy will save you a lot of money too.

I’ll be checking out Ikebukuro and Shibuya again for arcades, let me know if there’s anything else you heard that I should check out.
