Where to get Souls / Dust in KOF AllStar

To limit break your character after evolving, you will need SOULS.  When you don’t have souls, you need soul dust.  They all are used to limit break your character.

  1. Soul Quest
  2. Element Boss
  3. Story Quest
  4. Secret Shop
  5. Exchange shop
  6. Affinity
  7. Guild Shop
  8. Element Festivals

1. Soul Quest

Remember leverage counts but once you buff your main, you won’t care.  The opponents max at level 40.  Remember that with cores and leverage, you can beat them with a lower level.  Link to manual fighting tips.<<<

2. Element Boss

If you check the battle tab > event quest you’ll see that there is a special quest with a scary looking boss. It actually changes every week and the rewards are souls, different per difficulty and different every week.

If this boss is supplying the color for your main, then you need to hit it hard every day 3 times to get those souls, only from Lunatic Level. It even might supply the soul dust directly.

For example Alexandrite hard difficulty rewards you with 97 Robert souls. Expert level difficulty reward is colour souls of a particular colour so you can use it for any of your matching color fighter. Expert difficulty is limited to 3 a day.  Some characters you can ONLY get soul dust from these events, so don’t miss them- but don’t panic, remember it’s not the only way to limit break.

Bosses

  • RED Arms Black
  • GREEN Alexandrite
  • YELLOW Steely Puncher
  • PURPLE
  • BLUE

3. Story Mode Soul Event

Look at the portraits through story mode. If there is a green flame icon then this actually represents a soul quest.  They are unlocked when you complete the quests with all conditions met.

You can find the soul event for your character by pressing on the soul dust icon on the limit break screen.  However, if you haven’t unlocked the story stage, it won’t let you do it.

This is something to think about when you choose your character but the game won’t tell you what the event is until you reach it… some characters are in much harder stages than others.
Ryuji Yamazaki’s 97’s Soul Event can be found in KOF97 Stage 1 NORMAL while Mai 95 is in Kof98 EXPERT!!!!  Remember you can only use the souls for the year that matches your character.  You cannot use 95 Mai’s souls for any other Mai, for example.

The portraits will have a soul icon with 3/3 because you can only do it 3 times a day.

4. Secret Shop

You’ll usually see a 3 colour souls for sale for 100 but if you’re lucky you’ll see 10 for 300 rubies.

You may also see your characters soul dust x10 on sale for 350 rubies.

The shop changes stock every 6 hours!  You should also pick up other things while you’re there. LINK TO SHOP ARTICLE

5. Exchange shop

Exchange soul dust for souls here.  You’ll need 3000 soul dust for 6 souls.

The tactic here is to salvage the most common characters into dust because you’ll get them again. Or you just don’t care for them. You have been building soul dust collection with every roll. You can see who is the most common for you because they will have a high number out of 600.
Before you burn your collection to dust, you are limited to collecting 6!! AND the shop doesn’t have souls for everyone.

You can do this daily.

btw Limit break will use the souls first then the next item in the row.

6. Affinity

Feeding your character will give you souls , look at the reward list.
However,  that can take an item of food that is shared with another character and drops are still random.   Food is dropped from specific events and missions.  Just click on the food to find where to get it.

Be warned, reaching affinity level 10 can take 300 missions!

7. Guild Shop

Once you join a guild and they reach level 15, you will have access to the shop. Here you can request items. Most of the time you will find souls and buff capsules on sale. This is why you need to do the guild quests as you can only buy these with guild coins.

8. Element Festivals

This will take some work, as you need to clear 7 days worth of quests, but if you have a team of around level 60, it is much easier. Every week the festival will offer 50 souls of a colour. It’s worth noting at high levels you’ll need 30 to go up just one level… The festival are trying to make you raise a level 80 character but you’re not forced to use those souls on them at all …
