Kane and Giby answer your questions about the console version
The ON Show 15 featured lots of discussion about EVO and the controversies that happened. For one, Salim had to use a dodgy stick but didn’t complain, while another did, and because of a honourable reset, then went on to win the whole tournament. Also, Kayo Police, Poongko, The Mongolian, Slam Dunk, photos of SNKP’s prizes and much much more.
I have no life = KOF is life.
Tekken evo was boring as crap because there it was no international entries on it; Tokido isn’t even strong in japan and he participated for the lulz.
In the end it felt like it was a casual match between the childhood friends that still live in the same block. Any Tekken crash rendition is much better and interesting than the battles at that evo.
About KoF, yeah, I really think that it has no chance of showing up in the next evo. If evo judged games by quality then it wouldn’t be a “console game that runs at 720°” only tournament, that freaking rule is a damn insult to the community and a testament on how the tournament can’t be taken seriously.
Everyone should really be bringing your own gear stick wise. Ain’t about those sort of issues getting in the way.
Bala killed his own rep doing that, pretty sad tbh, I think he is a great player, but my respect for him has gone, I bet in some basement in canada emil is laughing.
I dont think KOF13 will be a main game next year at Eve-O, you have to remember SF x Tekken, Soul Cali 5, Skullgirls, Tag2 will all be out, and the update to Mahvel, only game I see being dropped is Tekken6 because that game is done(most boring game at evo got to say, yeah even MK was more interesting).
Talking of MK9 if its not back(it did have 500-600 people there for it I heard) then Soul Cali 5 will replace it, but with such a good turnout for MK9 its hard to see it being dropped.
Not only that but I know Mr Wizard absolutely hated running cvs2(3on3 game)he couldnt wait to kick that game to the curb.
The best realistic way to improve for next year is just to have a stream for the top8 or something.
Even double emilation takes long, even if you had the same 50people it would take way too long and get boring, thats the nature of the beast, KOF is a fine game, but in tourney anything other the straight knockout takes up way too much time.
Do you really want to have to record and upload gigs and gigs of video?
As for the home port, well they have nerfed K’ and Mr Dropkick but like GS Im worried about Iori ’98, he is usually very strong in games, and as of yet is an untested character, what horrors await us with him and perhaps even more characters that havent been shown yet?
Saki looks fairly strong, cant really tell till the game is out.
Im thinking that their might be two version for the home port, because I see SNK releasing this port on the arcade and tweeking it like they did with 2k2um and then releasing it back onto consoles as the updated arcade version.
Right now I see no reason why anybody would invest in serious time playing the arcade version, so SNK will have to release the home port to arcade, otherwise players will just carry on or goback to 2k2um.
Good point. I get kinda stressed playing these games sometimes and press Punch 4 times instead of once. 🙂 gotta learn to chill 🙂
I completely understand your feelings, Gunsmith. In fact with some of my friends we always argued that every game should have a tilt feature and insulting messages.
… Thinking back about it, I always bullied guys back in the day (well, it’s not like I don’t do it now) with things like “It’s Qcf with K, K, not Qcf with 40 kicks”; I remember that guys that whiplashed machines like that always pissed me off because the arcades were not only used by everyone; but since operators aren’t players they can’t recognize a failure on the machine unless it’s extreme, thus we had to take care of it or we were screwed.
… And it only got worse when I got a console, a simple ps2 pad controller is for about 60 bucks or more and a ps3 is over 100 bucks. The moment one of my guest starts mistreating the thing is the moment I start hitting him in the head with a beer bottle “hey, it’s cheaper that way” I always say.
You’re totally right. Don’t know what I was thinking! I think I was talking about mash friendly games. You can’t really mash KOF, but you can, I’ve seen loads of kids do it, and have fun doing it, but personally it really irks me!
Thanks for the vids 🙂
Gunsmith….are you tired? You seem kinda negative. Ofcourse you can sit on the couch and play with your friends, thats how we’re gonna get more players into KOF
That Mai was ok, but the her player needs to know better corner combos. She has lots of possibilities on corner. Mai is really unknew on this KOF. Maybe her buff will help a little.
