DandyDLC puts together some interesting tips for you to improve your play – some things I certainly hadn’t thought of, including how to measure recovery of moves and invincibilities. Highly recommended viewing!
On the subject of CD counters testing invincibility, I had a quick test of some anti airs and am still baffled at some moves, for example Kyo’s DP +C should be invincible but the other day, it was knocked it out cleanly with a hop B…. From what I can tell so far, the only invincible moves are EX, and not even all of them. Have a look at the video below:
Generally, I’m doing A (or B) version, then heavy version, then EX.
These have all been added to our system tutorial thread.
Kyo’s dp has some invincibility in the first hit, but there is a blindspot between the first and the second hit, in 2k2 he used to be knocked out of that blindspot all the time by some characters.
A lot of DPs are like that, they have some slight invincibility time in the normal version, but the EX one has a lot of invincibility and thus you don’t have to really bitch out and calculate them.
