Summer Project 2026 : the next FGC Yearbook

Alrighty, as you know, I’m supposed to be retired but I just can’t let go.  I stream every week, and play (badly).  Anyhow, it’s time for the FGC Yearbook to have another edition.

Vol 1 was released in 2014 on Amazon.  To avoid copyright issues, the next productions were called FGCMag and were released for free in digital format, but as is the trend, the platform was restricted (update, it seems to be working now).

A lot of time has passed, so it’s about time to make a new book.  The plan is currently to do the same thing, release it for free on kindle for a week, then leave it on sale and have it physically available.

I only have the summer holidays to collect all the materials, so it’s not exactly relaxing, but it’s what I love to do.

I want us to have a souvenir that remains.  This site will disappear one day, the free hosting will expire or need payment, some day, but that book that you have on your shelf will sit there and not ask you for a single penny.

So if you’re reading this as a reader, make sure to keep an eye here, and on the socials (look at the bottom of this page for links), for a release date.

If you’re reading this as a member of the community, who wants to share experiences, victories, stories, struggles, anecdotes, memories of the good old days, criticisms, cosplay photos, even promoting your FGC related activity, etc, get in touch via thegunsmith@hotmail.com !

Typical Questions

Can you please send me a memory, or a story of something that happened to you, that you would like to put in a book, to remember, forever.  Please send me at least one of the following:

1. A story from the past
2. A recent story
3. Anything else you want to share
4. A photo. 
5. Maybe you can tell us something interesting about your travels, like when you went to a foreign country and what was surprising or strange.  
6. What do you think would never have happened to you, if you never played fighting games?
7. How many tournaments do you estimate you have attended?
8. Tell us something you like about your favourite fighting game.

If you are not sure about what to write, think about your FGC life and what comes into your head first!  What made you happy or what made you angry!  Or something that could be useful to know, for other players.  Or something the audience doesn’t or didn’t know about something they saw on a stream.

Please make sure you own the copyright to the photo and you are giving the rights to me, to use in the book and any advertisement.

Full disclosure: the book will be on sale, I am not paying anyone for their contributions. I will give it away for free on Amazon Kindle at launch date.  

The plan is to publish this in Japanese, English and Spanish, maybe more! (TBD).
