Before we start, it needs to be said that the owner, Xiao, is moving the bar to Akihabara as we speak, so it’s no longer possible to visit the bar at Sendagi.  As one of the last visitors, here are some souvenir photos of the experience as it was.

Gamer bars are amazing, but even more so when they support the fighting game community.  Located at Sendagi, this tiny bar, reminiscent of the Golden Gai style ‘hole in the wall’, can seat around 7 people with a space for another 2 players in front of an atomiswave (which at the time was setup with Neogeo battle colliseum).

All the lads had great fun, thanks to them for being great company!! Big love!

The walls are replete with fighting game flyers, merchandise and posters, of course there are acrylic stands too.

Some may balk at actually using (expensive) SNK merchandise to eat food, but that’s what it was made for!  And Xiao had the official soy sauce for Geese that you could actually try!

I read the notice and said ‘itadakimasu!’  Perhaps next time he should write, ‘take one free’ but at least the stuff I took went to a good home, yes, mine.  Indeed, K’ is trash and can’t even be given away (joke).

As you can tell by the collaboration whiskeys, a lot of money was invested into this bar.  There are playstation 5s lined up on the counter but I’m not sure there’s enough space to really play while everyone is drinking and eating. But we will see at the next location how that pans out.

Tennkawa and Myu are at the spot with the atomiswave in front of them, note the large collection of manga, magazines and PS2 classics behind them.  Tennkawa is holding the menu for the bar!  Please order some delicious sausage and lemon sour!

The place is certainly a cozy nostalgia trip, wth posters reminding you of the good old days.  You may spend way too much time in the toilet.  Packing all this securely for the move must have been arduous, to say the least.

Haregoro and Tuboplus!

Serving food in a playstation container is a nice touch!! But the piece de resistance is the Raging Sausage set, that is accompanied by Geese-sama, as seen below.  Wonderful!

Thanks to Xiao for tolerating our noise and chatter for the evening, we had a great time, and I couldn’t tell whether it was the owner or an eavesdropping machine that was playing the opening music for whatever anime we were discussing.  Good times!  I look forward to seeing the new venue.  If you are visiting Japan and are a fan of fighting games, you surely need to visit.

You can find out where Shout Essence is by visiting his account on Twitter.  You can also find information on their google site.
