HAS NOW MOVED TO TOYASU!!!
SUSHI DAI
This is the most famous sushi restaurant at Tsukiji, having been featured on national TV, and now known over the world by travellers. Unfortunately that also means the queue is hours long and you may need to arrive at 3am for the quickest and freshest experience. Generally you just need to wake up as early as possible (it closes at 2pm and will turn away people still in the queue); get there with some food or drink in your bag to survive the queue. Those who love their sushi will have to get the first train and arrive as early as possible, then head back to the hotel and crash. The combination of presentation, skill, top ingredients plus friendly and humourous service make it unbeatable.

The lovely chefs at Sushi Dai. Once we took a photo, everyone else asked for one too – which says a lot about the experience.
