On the 30th Floor of the Grand Nikko Hotel, grab a bargain quality Teppanyaki lunch! (Lunch?6,000 compared to Dinner?16,500) with an amazing view. Do not confuse this with the grill on the 30th, which has buffet. This recommendation is the Hamayu Teppan-yaki.
This is a high level experience, expect staff to take your coats and walk you to your table with a personal chef, who will either be totally professional and grin if you compliment the food, or might be a bit gruff and try to hide his smile if you compliment the food. Ha! The portion sizes are decent (for Europeans) and flames are always fun to watch, they are totally used to people taking videos and photos. Expect some courses to be small and lovely with vegetables you’ve never seen before and then it’s already down your stomach and you’re wondering how to get another.
After the fancy desert, you can go back down to ground level to check out Diver City and the giant Gundam!
It’s best advised to get your hotel/hostel assistant to book the lunch, as early as you can. Emailing them to do it as soon as you’ve booked your flight is even better.
