I wish I could say it was the best thing ever, and it certainly looked good, but the story was kind of dumb. And a bit slow, ironically.

Redline is very playful with his characters, often exaggerate stereotypes. Its universe is so grandiose and excessive. They moves by childish desires/promises, so sure if you look at it coldly it's dumb as bricks(roboworld?), but the story is not really the point, everything is at the service of the outrageous aesthetics, and sometimes metaphysics intersect with reality, creating with i would call happy absurdities.
Redline feels happy, yes.

Just started watching this and I must say it very interesting the first episode alone got me hooked.
Most of the zombie stuff is coming out of america just got done reading World War Z great book to pick up if you enjoy zombies. Gonna be turned into a movie Brad Pitt starting in it cant wait to see it.
You can stop waiting. In traditional Hollywood fashion some fucking hack of screenwriter took a wonderful property (WWZ is the best zombie book/movie/story/etc ever), added their 'special touch', and turned it into a rancid pile of shit. Here's the latest synopsis of Mr. Pitt's little abortion:

Per Ain't it Cool news
The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. [Mireille] Enos plays Gerry’s wife Karen Lane; [Daniella] Kertesz is his comrade in arms, Segen.
Sound anything like the book you read? Anything at ALL?!?? It's infuriating - don't take an established story, steal the name and random bits and pieces, and then write your own shit ass movie. There's no reason to call this movie World War Z - it should be called "Screenwriter Joe Schmoe's hackneyed schlockass Zombie Fanfic (that his mother thought was jussst great!)". Mind you I don't see anyone doing justice to WWZ with a movie (although the audio book is extremely well done - albeit an abridged version of the book) but this is just ridiculous. Fuckers...

Back on topic: I almost bought the HSotD manga when I was in NYC last month - didn't know there was an anime; I'll look into it. Thanks

I've never been that big of an anime fan, and most of the ones I do like are old ones such as Hokuto no Ken. And so, on that track, I recently started watching Legend of the Galactic Heroes (or Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu for all you bilingual people out there) and I'm really enjoying it. If you don't mind older anime and can get through slightly choppy hand-drawn animation, then give it a shot; it's very good sci-fi.

Boku ha Tomodachi ga Sukunai has started; currently has an "episode 0" OVA (it's also episode 0 in the novel) and the first episode. For those that don't know it's about a blonde guy that can't get along with people and is miss-understood by a delinquent. In his passive quest of getting along with people he ends up getting acquaintanced with quirky people that can't get along with others just as him. While the premise is completely dull and doesn't sound original at all, we have that when you get to know the characters personas indepth and you understand how weird and funny they are is that the series really completely shines; it's like an evil version of Genshiken with constant bullying and jokes about rape and weird stuff going on when you aren't looking.

To me this was the show of the season... but, but... but everything is being Moeized to the limits and that is really not settling good with me; it's like they want me to give it a "they where right" to all the women that ever complained to me about sexploitation and the like. The novel and manga is narrated by the protagonist and he doesn't really see the other characters as nothing more than weird hard to handle weirdos that get into scruffles all the time; it's how weird they are what's important and the cast is super balanced to the point in the it only needed a psychotic maniacal stalker sudamerican type of guy and a meta philosophical knows it all for real gay european type of guy to cover all my favorites quirks.

Bottom line? It's probably gonna be funny if it can keep all the crazy things from the original and if you can stomach down the disgusting moe and panchira and you can suppress the odd feeling of seeing singing a character that shouldn't sing... I wonder if episode 2 is going to be able to keep up with the actual fun, in the novels it's totally super good. And the part about the sacred blacksmith is also totally great.

-- Gunsmith is obviously an air friend and my real name is Pegasus.

BTW, I haven't seen the first episode of H x H yet, but I have already heard complains that it can't keep up with the previous series; the previous series used animation techniques and resources that where topnotch for it's time and had a very clever and artistic direction. The new series has nothing of that and seems to be rushing events as to get quickly to the good parts.

Pretty much nothing else has caught my attention and Bakuman 2 is there, gyah gyah gyah gyah.

I wonder if Toxico started the post with the risqué image just for SS or it came to him halfway

I.... don't know what you are speaking of (I just saw the imagine and said "this is it". The second one is there for the punchline *sweatdrop )

The second chapter was there, much better than the first one, but it's still my least favorite adaptation of the series. BTW the Monster Kariudo scenes where truer to the game here than in the original and manga, that was a big improvement (かりうど -> Hunter in jp).

edit :

Mirai Nikki was on this season as well (I didn't notice it). It's basically Highlander replayed again with a bunch of teenage japanese kids that can see the future and a psycho stalker yandere love interest.

Since this thread has been image intensive, let's just go for it.
