This is from the first tournament at Versus, where two teams battled it out, the winner having eliminated all the players from the other.

Just back from Nagihey’s tournament in Shinjuku… I spoke to the winner, no spoilers, and he also recommended Shoki… will write more later, but need to point out, there is a joker player called TU NE. It’s not DUNE.
From the players that I have seen there in Versus, Shoki seems to be the best choice, my reasoning is as follows :
EVO would not be simply a thing of skill, but rather you vs the world for 2 days straight. People don’t only play games at the tournament location, but later in the hotel they still fight it out, so it’s not like you can rest 10 hours between one day and the other.
Skill wise, many of the players there many have the paste to shine in a large tournament, but when it comes to have the nerves of steel it’s not the same, for example even though I have never spoke with them, Haregoro and Dune seem like some pretty relaxed individuals (Dune even said himself that he doesn’t have the meat to pull off some full nighters and be fine with it). With that Shoki is my best choice, he apparently being the gaming partner of Gosho, and their streams being pretty extreme (like, playing until 5am and stuff).
…. There is also the fact that, to me; Shoki comes out as pretty darn shameless, he does seems like the type that can abuse infinites, bugs and tiers for 70 hours straight, get booed and be cool with it, hahahahaha. I’m actually praising him there, he is a neat player to boot.
This comes from someone who’s “meet up with the gang” gaming sessions lasts between 20 hours to 40 hours straight.
