The top KOF13 Terry player in Japan has become the biggest news in the anime industry this week, but not because of his ‘ARE YOU OK’ gaming skills. Hell, he even became headline on Kotaku.
Mitsuhiro Yukichi (you can see him play against Tokido here) works his dayjob as a professional voice actor. In fact, he became a voice actor because of his dream to one day do a character in KOF– talk about being a hardcore fan. He’s already in his 30’s but so far he hasn’t had his big break yet, living off on minor roles.
And as everyone knows, small-time voice actors are treated like crap.
In Yukichi’s case, he was humiliated to the pulp on broadcast thanks to an idiot producer at Kingrecords who thought that lying to him about getting a role in a new anime would be funny, and the harassment continued…

WTF!!! They could’ve make the guy comit suicide for bloody stunt like that!Heck, I also have a dream that I could be a voice actor in vido games, especially giving voices for Terry and such, so I really do feel for the guy… I know in this bussiness can be really harsh on newcomers with no connections/little backrounds, but this stunt takes the big cake! I don’t mind pranks for some laughs, but this is seriously taking things too bloody far!!!
I remember it being Yukichi in the match videos, but I can’t remember if it was pronounced Yuki-ichi or Yukiichi.
Oh, also, Ichiki seems to be the acting MC of a game show from Gamutama, http://gemutama.com/news/11277 , the first episode even covers KoF XIII. My point is, that he is standing on his two feet already.
Wasn’t Yukichi his KCE tournament nick? Also debacle is a pretty mean way to describe it, heh.
