I avoided reading as I'm 26 :p

Speaking of pedos, I was a little annoyed at Bakemonogatari's Snake constrictor episode. How old was she supposed to be? Errr snakes and nudity and screams of pain? Er... no. Unless she is sexually mature, then I can happily be aroused.

If you don't want to get spoiled, then don't click the spoiler. Duh.

Did I not type sarcastically enough? Is there some function key I have to hit? *sarcasm*

Durarara is VERY predictable, but still enjoyable.

It's my favorite of this season for sure; especially when it comes to the cast.

FMA heading up for that climax, both in anime and manga form. The last bunch of episodes have been pretty tense.

And I also concur with SS's spoiler.

Arakawa has its moments.

Debating on whether or not to watch Angel Beats.

Well Angel Beats is a thing. Character development is not as involved as Key stuff usually gets, and the humor is a little dry, but at least it's not based on another eroge dating adventure (the cast is 75% male). Yet somehow Maeda Jun still manages to fulfill his quota of bedridden girls in there, and somehow it still takes place in a school even though logic dictates that there was absolutely no need to have a school in the plot.

Elsewhere, I'm finding Tatami Galaxy to be rather interesting, if a little go-nowhere in concept. The SZS-like presentation helps, and unlike SZS there are no blatant moe stereotypes running around, which also helps. Now if I could just find a version of the show without that obnoxious Funimation logo taking up 1/5 of the screen.

eheh, you know it does have its moments, but i feel it's often too forced and some characters are way overplayed. the kappa is awesome though.

Tatami is a pretty bizarre show (not surprising from the director behind Kaiba/Kemonozume/Kuchu Buranko) with both it's artstyle and Groundhog Day motif (though it seems more and more that the resets are connected with each other) but it's pretty entertaining. I think Gun would probably like this one too.

Curious, but I wonder who you might be referring to? Also apparently a staff blog mentioned it'll have a 2nd season 'round fall so we'll see if we do get some diversity. Agreed about Kappa, though, especially in the latest ep.

Also, I miss Gintama already. =(

Funny enough I had tried to check this out but YouTube had it blocked in the UK. I thought, oh well, whatever, but as soon as you mentioned kaiba etc., well that's an automatic GET!

Just need a comedy for Saturday mornings now...

Other than that the story was pretty meh. Railgun is absolute garbage though.
The novels are slightly better, the action is pretty much "at the same level"... but the irony has a much more distinctive touch which I find it suits the series better and adds more appeal. Too bad it turns slightly DBZish near the latest volumes, with magicians / espers doing just extremely broken things (at least it always ends with some punching in the face).

BTW, season 2 is slated.

Now that the last episode aired, I can say that Tatami Galaxy was the best show I saw this season by far. It was an initially-complex narrative that miraculously assembled itself well in the climax and resolved into a concise and simple ending message. And it had a penis voiced by Joe Higashi.

Everything else was pretty meh.
-Durarara! was much better in the first half, the yellow scarves arc went on for just a bit too long.
-FMA2 I'm sure was the adaptation everyone hoped it would be, but the end was just plain formulaic in its resolution. All I can say is fewer people died than I would have expected.
-K-On!! was completely unnecessary.
-Working!! was dull and focused way too much on the redhead.
-Angel Beats! (enough with the damn exclamation points already) was probably the biggest disappointment since it was Maeda Jun's big new thing. Well, the things he did were good (music too) and the rest was pretty crap. Poor continuity, lack of foreshadowing that should have been present, inconsistent character personalities, lack of chemistry in the group... so events felt disconnected, relationships forced, and the ending tacked-on. Shame.
