cool. I can only wait for an arcade release (if ever) =( Just wondering if they could have made it on the Neogeo MVS.SonicTempest wrote:They did indeed. Just about everyone has received gameplay tweaks/new moves, it seems.
And in case you don't like them, there's the original '98 in there to play as well.
I better start saving for taico X2 board (just for XII). =p

According to Insert Credit, KOF'98 UM has been confirmed for arcades as well:

I wonder what board it'll use. Type-X2 seems like overkill for a game like this...maybe Namco's System 246 (for quick porting)?

Nah, I dun think so. I won't give 2 craps about XII, yet I'm dying to see this being in arcades.
After all, it's the PERFECT KOF episode, and having it with more characters and new stuff = win.
I can imagine a lot of old-school KOF players (the "I dun give a shit since 99" kind) playing this without a doubt. I would say this is aimed to also their old public, and not only their established fan(boy)base.

I can also see 90% of them looking at the changes and going "WTF this isn't 98" and then going back to playing/butthumping vanilla '98.Kyosuke Kagami wrote: I can imagine a lot of old-school KOF players (the "I dun give a shit since 99" kind) playing this without a doubt. Yup. Especially if UMode contains any kind of cancel combos. 98 UM has to be the same as 98 but with new characters and a few bugs taken out to be acceptable. Anything more might as well be kof 99 and above.SonicTempest wrote:I can also see 90% of them looking at the changes and going "WTF this isn't 98" and then going back to playing/butthumping vanilla '98.Kyosuke Kagami wrote: I can imagine a lot of old-school KOF players (the "I dun give a shit since 99" kind) playing this without a doubt. I have the opposite sentiments. I rather see XII than see a rehash/remake of a game. What's wrong with super cancels anyway? 2k2 was fun. In fact every version is fun. Don't get me wrong, 98 is good, but it's OLD. Adding a few stuff here and there doesnt make it a new game... well, maybe it applies to all sequels, but XI is a lot newer than 98. Like I said, I rather see XII out first.Kyosuke Kagami wrote:Nah, I dun think so. I won't give 2 craps about XII, yet I'm dying to see this being in arcades.
