Hwa Jai's movelist!

Command Moves:
df .B Slide -

dp + .B or .D Dragon Kick : (can be done in air)

qcf .A or .C TNT Punch -
---> qcf .A or .C (Finishing Blow) EX

QCB + .B or .C Dragon Tail :

DM
qcf qcf .B or .D Dragon Dance

qcf hcb + .A or .C Dragon Bone Twist :

List of drink effects
- All dealt damage increases by 15%
- B dragon Kick -> more invincibility and range.
- D Dragon Kick -> better speed
- Dragon Tail -> Speed and someone said maximum amount of hits (I haven't checked this).
- Dragon Back Breaker -> One extra hit that increases the already big damage greatly.
- Air versions of the moves supposedly don't get boosts aside the damage increase, just like the EX moves

Neo MAX :
qcf hcb + .B + .D Final Dragon Kick

Console changes
- All frames on Drink super have been changed (apparently, its recovery is faster)
* Ground CD has changed. Moves forward and has invincibility to low attacks
* Fierce Dragon Tail has faster recovery; can be connected to a normal move after it hits
* Weak Dragon Backbreaker is now a 1F throw instead of a leaping throw
- Weak Dragon Tail comes out faster and connects from a fierce
- EX Air Dragon Kick now hits 3 times like its ground version and does 154 damage.
- EX Dragon Tail chips less guard meter

Producer Yamamoto says: Hwa has a lot of changes, like for example, his Weak Backbreaker is a 1F hit now. The recovery on his drink is different so it might be usable in a combo.

Whereever the c .C hits, df B will hit as well, followed by the Dp etc.

.C > df .B > DP .D x QCB .B

Unless specified, the DP .D hits twice before cancelling.

Using QCB .D would inflict more damage but won't connect mid screen.

.C > df .B > DP .D x QCB .B > DP .D or qcf x2 .K

In the corner things get interesting

j .D > .C > df .B > DP .D x QCB .D > DP .D x QCB .D > qcf x2 .K 589 damage

- and that's only using 2 hd bars and 1 stock.

Notes from Professor of MM Cafe
1- Hwa Jai looks like Joe-- in fact, I think they just replaced his head. His normal move set looks the same too. However he plays quite differently, at least from the Joe that we know from XII. For one thing, Hwa Jai doesn't have a projectile and he seems better off fighting in close range.

His dragon Kick from FF1 functions like a Tiger Kick when done with weak kick, but it doesn't have invincibility, or very little if any. Done with the feirce, it's similar to FF1 and he flys across the screen. He can also do it in the air, which gives it different performance than on the ground. Done with weak, it makes him kick downwards like a dive kick. Feirce makes him fly forwards in the air. So, you can do a weak dragon kick into the air and then drop back down with another weak dragon kick if you have a hyperdrive meter.

His Dragon Tail is a golden heel that can be done on the ground and in the air. I think it's unblockable on a crouch? Might be wrong, but I've seen a crouching Yuri get hit a few times with it.

he has rapid punches similar to that of Joe's.

He can drink and turn color like in FF1

Now the problem is how effective his drinking mechanic will ??? Because his drinking animation take an amount of time and he doesnt invicible unlike in FF 1. Everytime I see he's drinking, he's very open to attacked and his enemy always attack him and his drinking canceled.

There are some parts that I don't get, but basically it looks like.

All dealt damage increases by 15%
The Dragon back breaker, Dragon Kick and Dragon Tail (only ground and not the ex) get improvements.
Effects will last for 14 time counts.

EDIT :

His move list has a little mistake. Lists his command move has the step kick f + b... This was true on the early betas, but on the finished version his only command move is the slide, df + .B

Also.... Drink Pink? xD It's ドリンク飲み, not ドリンク淡紅






Kinda unreasonable to land these combos, as you need to booze up and then connect a jumping corner attack as soon as possible... Funny how the duration of the combos easily outdo the length of Hwa Jai's drunkness.

I can't wait to test Hwa Jai when this comes out.IMO,he's what Joe should've been but better.Also love the Avatar-skin color that's posted on this thread

What's the specific differences between Hwa's drink and Chin's drink??? Why Hwa can only drink as a DM while Chin can drink it freely without DM even multiple drink??? And I remember during the characters blog by SNK Hwa's Neomax are a bit different when he drunk. Anybody see this differences???

Well, initally Hwa Jai's drink was a normal move just like Chin's drink; but people complained that you couldn't drink safely since the move takes to long and they changed it to a dm (personally, I would have liked a normal drink and a EX drink that freezed the screen just like his DM does).

Normally he just laughs in the end. When he is under the booze he laughs with hist tongue completely out and some booze is slipping off (it's super cool :P). aside from the face the animations are pretty much the same.

From what I gathered in the Master Guide, Hwa's Neo Max has two different properties. If it hits up close at startup, it does a single hit for 450 damage. And if it hits at a distance, it becomes a multiple hit kick that does 360 damage instead. Sorta like Ryu's Shin Shoryuken I guess.

qcf qcf .P is a reversal move BTW. Got suckered into it every time by the CPU.

Yea I'm having fun experimenting with him in training mode, really fun combos :). Still trying to form a team I'm happy with and I think he could definitely be part of it.

The start is a pretty generic, but later gets better, to the point that it's a little different from most combo basic vids (which are all just derivation from trials, and thus pretty dull).

Recently been trying to fit Hwa Jai into a team. And found out he's well rounded with Shen, Maxima, Terry, and Iori.
Plus his HDSM and Neo-Max really dish out damage. I was surprised to find out both could cancel moves whether offense or defense.
They've really changed him since his FF days.
