Re: KOF XIII: Ralf Jones
Okay, well then....
What are the properties like on the
+A+C on hit? I know they crumple the opponent and it has armour, but is this armour from the first frame all the way through start-up so it can be used off the ground? And if the opponent (lets say it's Kyo) suspects the
+A+C might be coming and does 1 cr.B can they block it afterwards?
If you hit with the
+A+C and get the crumple what can you hit the opponent with afterwards? Normals? CD's? Command normals (d/f+A)? Specials? Supers? just want to know what the options are really.
Thinking if Ralf hits the opponent in the corner with the
+A+C can you get the old 12 style CD,
+C stuff going (you might have to use
+A+C to pop the opponent up high enough for more hits but I think you get the point). Lastly why doesn't any one use CD into special in the corner? Does it not work in this game compared to 12 or is there just huge damage scaling?
Cheers to anyone that can figure this out for me

Well I've seen CD's cancelled into specials in 13, they probably won't connect on an air oppoent but maybe a grounded one? Then again the CD will put them in the air so, I doubt that'll work actually
Was just thinking something like cr.C, C gattling punch or vulcan punch or d/f+A, C ground bang/ A vulcan punch might lift the opponent high enough in the air to get a corner combo without the use of any super meter (but probably drive meter of course).

Nice Ralf combo in the second ralf match, ends it in
,
+K and that last hit does good damage and catches the opponent out of the air

Put that in a nico video redirector to get it up.

can a nice Ralf user answer this question?Robocop Two wrote:is Ralf's far C super cancel able as well? Drive cancels by definitions are specials canceled into specials. Like a few exceptions in XIII (and first time every in the KOF series?), Shen's Far C, Terry's Far C, Maxima's Far C, Iori's s.A, s.B are [SC]-only (Super Cancel only, they don't cancel into specials). Only in Maxima and Shen's case, they both have autoguard as well, it's almost unfair.
,
+K. Range it after a block string so that it whiffs but if they press buttons or attempt to jump it connects and because it should combo into the grab regardless of if they are in the air or not.

Ralf far standing C isn't cancelable outside Hyper Drive mode, same goes for his far standing D. So you'll have to stick to crouching C and DM. In the old games at maximum range the Unamori didn't comboed since Ralf didn't ran fast enough to reach the enemy before the hit animation was already done.Robocop Two wrote: is Ralf's far C super cancel able as well? In XII from maximum range crouching C into Galactica Phantom was good, in XIII both his crouching punch and DM work similarly to XII so it should be good as well. Even if it doesn't, the EX Galactica is better than the vanilla one, so that can be attempted as well.

Yeah I was just trying to think of some frame traps or something to stop people from running around to much, thinking that far standing C has great range and speed, that if it did connect on some one that jumped that theToxic Avanger wrote:Ralf far standing C isn't cancelable outside Hyper Drive mode, same goes for his far standing D. Been watching some more videos and his A gattling punch looks really unsafe, the C version is nice as it launches and the EX version is good because it launches high and forces untechable knock down but is that move only any good in combos you can hit confirm from then due to it's punishable nature?

Just wanted to leave a post saying thanks for the Ralf guide - I'm thinking of playing him when the console version hits (he felt pretty good to play as when I tried him at PAX) so the information you posted is definitely helpful.

He is very fun, however he is lacking a bit in his arsenal so be prepared for a few uphill battles, but he can compete it's just hard.SonicTempest wrote:Just wanted to leave a post saying thanks for the Ralf guide - I'm thinking of playing him when the console version hits (he felt pretty good to play as when I tried him at PAX) so the information you posted is definitely helpful.
