imo, rant rant rant anti shoto but I'm not a designer so I have to shut up. But wait, this is the rant thread! Hooray!

SNKP are covering up!!! Kyo's a rushdown anti shoto character, just incomplete. And that's the truth coz I said so! nyaaaaa

I get the feeling that we're going to go through Kyo's (and many other characters) development all over again, just in HD.

Ah nice job SNK. Kyo is basically a shoto. Thank you for reverting him back from he used to be.

I agree, Kyo best incarnation was XI or 2k2um. I never did like NGBC kyo....

Characters they plan to add in the future??? (Chang, Oswald, Malin and Momoko)

Chang looks complete to me, IMO. (I got a feeling he'll be added anytime soon in either XIII's Console or KOF XIV)

EDIT: Forgot to add the Unhooded form concepts of those from the past. Rose and Botan concepts as well.

Yeah, I'm translating this one. Give me an hour or so.

EDIT: OK, apparently Kukino asked the art staff to draw certain characters the way they would look using KOF XIII's new sprite style, that's all. Although he drops some vague hints about Oswald maybe showing up if people want to play as him.

Got all excited for nothing :(

One of the reasons of why 2D fighting scene is dying in asia is because seasoned players beat the shit out of newbs so badly, that they can't even show their faces in the arcade anymore ( Ohh, I know that feeling <3 ). So it ends up that new blood keeps itself away from those bullies.

Supposedly, 3D games aren't that affected by this, since the players can always go to the excuse of "there are still things / moves that I don't know / haven't tried out", there are also a bunch of documents and things to study from (in game guides for VF games are big enough to make your head spin.... I think that they are even bigger than those metal gear ones, har har. Oh, and website bound info is so much more than the one found in the game).

I'll let people wonder think Chang might be in, if they're smart, they'll find this thread.

Newbs are important, because old skool have a lot less time to be pumping money into arcade machines. Prof is saying the game balance is really poor with Kyo and K' in God tier with everyone else way below. Never fear, Iori's up there too, just harder to use, which is why winners use Liz instead.

Supposedly balance is much better than other non dream match KoFs, but that's the problem since the kof games that get the best input and more players aren't those.

Yeah...I don't buy that, seeing how that's the case with every single competitive game ever made. A couple of TF2 league players popped into the server I was playing on the other day and completely wiped the floor with me - I didn't get a single kill for the entire round. I've also had my fair share of beatdowns from higher-level players in fighting games, from the SCORN folks, random people in arcades and even online. If you're playing a competitive game, this is just something you need to be prepared to deal with.

That said even XIII seems to have some stuff made simpler for newer players - you can do cancel combos without bursting stock (like in NeoWave) and activating HD mid-combo is less execution intensive than it was in 2K2. And of course the game is a bit slower than 2K2.

The Ogura Article came out last Friday, we just overlooked it because of the XIII Sprites Buzz...

It says, その1, it means it's only the first of the series...

Also, Leona has a different illustration before the final one.

No, the date has to be wrong. That article wasn't there yesterday.... Heck, it wasn't there when I got home (4 hours ago).

edit : they fixed the wrong date (27) to the proper one (02).

There it was once these two random guys that promised to translate text for the endings of the game... Yet, it seems that they stopped after tackling one ending each (hyo hyo), dunno what became of them.


..... Yeah, it's just natural to use "there is a guy that I know" every time you can get away with it.
