No FF3?
---
Funny how my name comes from the P series yet I hate 3 and will most likely hate 4. I miss my oldschool P games. No want Tokimeki + dungeon crawler + annoying pop and rap.
*still waiting for Innocent Sin eng patch*
So far for me it's been IS > EP > 1 > 3
They need to remake 1, the loading was HORRID.

Shiny: Let me warn you, FF3 is incredibly annoying. You don't get to save that often, you can't buy phoenix downs from anywhere, and to top it off the last area of the game will take hours to finish without ever giving you a chance to go back and save or shop. I found it far more frustrating than fun.

HURRY UP! Levelling up isn't so bad, are you hoarding personas that aren't right for the area? Exploit weaknesses, combo, rinse and repeat! When they're all tired spend the next day chatting up girls innitApathy Wind wrote:I wouldn't say I dislike P3 but it really isn't the same as the first two. I really loved it at first but it just gets too repetitive. And I've never been a fan of random dungeons. And leveling Persona is soooooooo slow.....
Still - determined to finish what I started
I have the Gunslinger character in Disgaea! Heheheh

I just collected them all.Fuu wrote:hmm, what about espers? they look pretty pointless, especially since you lose your patners and you could spam quickenings that seem kinda broken(just killed adramelch this way)! Also to whom should i give them, does it matter? Dunno boost stats, etc.
Ultima was kinda fun for a bit when I was around level 40 but when you've got weapons that are dealing 9999 damage then 3x 9999 is far better than 1 x9999 and 1 healer.
Dunno if it boosted stats but I gave most of them to Luke Skywalker as everyone else needed MP for spells

I found Espers to be completely worthless - I only used (or even assigned) them once due to the necessity of the story. I've read things suggesting Esper are useful due to their mega attacks but considering the lack of team support and the relative inaccessibility of said attacks I found them to be a waste of the ever precious MP bar.
Their worthlessness is especially disappointing since I thought FFX was the first FF game in which summon monsters were particularly worthwhile.

Finished FFXII!
I liked it alright, but there's something that just doesn't click sadly.
I mean sure it's broken and summons are useless, but mostly little things here and there detract from the experience.
I can feel the heavy hand of Square over Matsuno, for instance Basch was intended to be the main character and most likely Vaan never existed to begin with, but damn if you can have a FF free of clueless teenagers.
Also the fact that you can choose your lead and see the characters in your party on the field, but in cities you're stuck with Vaan and only Vaan. I find this a little stupid detail that could have been fixed with no effort, and i'm sure that people that never ever used Vaan once they had the opportunity will agree with me. It's just kind of anticlimatic. And near the end people will vaguely recognize Vaan as a valuable member, but since he doesn't do squat in cutscenes and i never used him, it sure strikes as bizzarre praising this kid that has being running around buying things from shops and doing silly chores.
Cutscenes attacks feel too disjointed to the overall decent pace of the battle, i guess they are another stigma of the past.
Wyler and Mecha-Wyler were great.
Still one of the best FF ever easily, most likely my last though, and i really doubt i'll go back to it for the extras. Vagrant Story is still the definitive Matsuno experience, wonder what's the guy doing right now, hopefully his health problems are nothing too serious or even better it was only Square's facade to dismiss him.
