Match videos

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtWtktIOGmc

and

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rM93ANwJPlk

Notes:

- First video makes me wish I could effectively use Angel. And Jhun
- Second video confirms presence of Orochi versions of the NFT (well Chris and Yashiro at least...)
- [s]Lin seems to be based on his 2001 version (stretchy arms and what not) though I can't be sure - was that three hit punch combo his 2000 version or his 2001 version? It's been a while...[/s] EDIT: After looking into it I'd say that the three hit combo thing shown on the video appears to be his 2000 version so Lin apparently has aspects of both his incarnations
- Music for Iori/Vice/Mature is IMO much better than any of their previous themes
- The upper left corner of the victory screens in the first video say "First Stage Winner" , "Second Stage Winner" etc but the screen from the second video says "Accident". I'm assuming this is because the second video is probably a vs. match (with it's mismatched teams and whatnot) but accident is still kinda odd...

It's quite the opposite, they took 2000 Lin and added him those weird spider man thingies. It's easy enough to see, his move has poison (in 2k1 they didn't) and the DM (and everything else for the matter) doesn't animate like crap.

It seems Takuma now has a small animation on his fireballs (instead of none). Love the artwork. It annoys me they are still using the unfinished Iori sprite (with redone idle animation but not redone walking animations). Would it really mess up the gameplay to use 03 or XI's sprites?

I think the guy in the middle is pre-02 Takuma (i.e. the one with the actual fireballs and charge motion hienshippuukyaku)

From what I can tell in the videos, Angel's chain moves are much faster, and she can repeat them now instead of having to alternate P/K and directional motions each time. She can also empty cancel into her DM now, which is pretty scary stuff. That's some pretty major buffing up there, but it's hard to say if those changes are going to be kept, since it does make her overpowered.

Jhun doesn't seem to be that different, except his Guard Crush/anti-fireball (D in Eagle Stance) kick is a wire attack. I can't tell if he stuffed the timing against Mature, or if it no longer negates normal fireballs though. I think his qcb+P has a larger hitbox, and C in Tiger Stance is a little faster, but otherwise he doesn't seem very different. I also noticed the d+B x2 > d+A > d,u+C combo whiffing, so it means crouching B pushes back more. Some of his stance moves seem to be faster, but I'm not sure, and it's not as obvious as Angel's.

Lin seems to be the 2k general animation, but with his 2k1 rdp tentacle attacks. From what I can see, his qcf+P > hcb+P > f+P chain doesn't seem to link off light attacks anymore. Given that the player was trying to pull it several times, I'm guessing he used both punch buttons to try. So I suppose Lin's light combo now is crouch B > crouch A > qcf+A or (S)DM. Since this is the 2k version Lin in general, I hope he retains his hcf, hcf+K unblockable DM.

Leona gets back her 99 Grateful Dead DM, while Vice can now pull a Mithan's Robe if she whiffs a Mayhem, which was something only the CPU could do.

She could do this in the normal 2k2 as well, plug the game and try it out yourself. The key is doing : UC chain move -> Hcf + D -> same UC chain move and repeat. This will work unless you are too close to the enemy, which would make Angel teleport behind the enemy and will shut down the pattern. I'm sure the Empty cancel to DM was there as well.

I also noticed that she can't use the UC chain upper to juggle (bye bye infinite).

I can't make much out of that shadow pic - the center image seems to be a Ryo or Takuma, what with the stance and clothing. The upper right corner looks like NGBC Robert to me (doesn't his f,b,f + K move end kind of like that?). If NGBC Robert is correct, then I'm going for NGBC Mr. Karate for the center guy.

Oh, and the guy next to "Robert" has to be Geese (pants are kind of a give away). The stance seems in line with his vacuum throw special as well.

What are the big three supposed to be? That one on the lower left seems familiar somehow - that's not supposed to be Zero is it (I don't remember what his moves look like)? No clue on the other two large shadows - one looks like a space ship and the other a tank/couch....

If you're basing that on the match videos I posted, I'm pretty sure that was a CPU Vice

I'm no Angel expert, but that guy was pulling repeated df+C at a very fast rate, so it looked like he was simply holding the joystick and tapping C.

I know you can miss with a chain move and still pull a (S)DM in 2k2, but that video was a deliberate empty cancel from her u+C if I'm not mistaken, and that's something I don't remember seeing, since nobody pulls a DM with Angel out of the blue. But imagine the possibility of empty canceling her f+C.

As for the silhouette picture, the one on the bottom right is definitely Zero. Directly above him is Geese (YAY!) . The one in the center could be Mr. Karate, while the one at the lower left could be Ron/Long., but the rest is beyond my ability to guess.
