...or is anyone else annoyed by the amount of players who use Evil Ryu or Oni, thinking that "oh, he looks like a devil" or "he has glowing eyes and is 'evil'" equals HUEG SUCCESS! I mean, there are nearly 30 other characters to choose from.
(BTW, I main a BRITISH GODDESS!)
THAT IS ALL!

Woah, woah, slow down, egghead.
You mean to tell me that people play Evil Ryu/Oni when they're not f*cking around/Sentosu-san? (Sentosu-san = Japanese guy on SMOAI who plays online with different characters every episode)

MAGUS1234 doesn't count because he said he's moving away from Oni at this point.

You know, I have seen zero Gouken players...perhaps I should get in on the old man action.
Also, got pwned a few days ago by a cheap Bison user. It wouldnt have bothered me so much (at least it wasnt a shoto), but then he called me a 'pussy'.

This is part of the reason why I don't like or play SF4,SSF4,Arcade Edition etc.
Really they added in 2 demon forms of already pre existing characters and the asian version of the hardy boys tag team? Do not want. Not to mention Yun is still Overpowered as hell which makes absolutely no sense.

Who's overpowered?
Well, at least the characters in KOF XIII are all different/likeable.

Sagat in Vanilla was probably stronger, and much like Sagat, Yun doesn't really win many tournaments unless your name is Daigo.

Well in all fairness , I didn't know Raiden was originally gonna be OP XD , secondly they did nerf his Drop Kick...I mean he's kinda sorta..still the same...shaddup

, I'm just happy he's good. Grapplers need lovin too XD.
Foxhole: I actually think a good assortment of characters were pretty OP in Vanilla (I actually did own it for a little bit) , Sagat was freakin annoying X_X. I kinda liked who was good in that game though , if my memory serves me well wasn't El Fuerte dope in that? And then they ruined him in Super? Idk I can't follow up on this stuff all the time.
Think so? Idk It seemed like everyone has been playing Yun since it came out and I mean I'm aware of Yun being OP in 3rd Strike. I guess you're probally right , then again Diago did get perfected by Poonko. Which pretty much blew everyones mind.

My problem is with people complaining about tier whoring when the only reasons why tiers exist is because the Japanese players are responsible for creating the tiers. Sometimes I think part of the reason why Yun is so great is because Daigo and Inoue picked him up and went on a tear, then all of a sudden everyone else realized some serious potential. I undoubtedly believe that Yun is stronger than the rest of the cast, but probably not by much, and requires a large amount of skill to play him well. It's easy to have a mediocre Yun, and it's even easier to have a crap Yun. Unlike Vanilla that produced a large group of players with fairly scary sagats, AE has produced an online environment of easy wins as people try their best to hop the band wagon.
I pretty much played from Vanilla to the end of Super, but I'll admit I've only played AE for a short while, I'm too busy being psyched for KOF and Uncharted 3.

I think the whole principle of a Tier List is messed up. And you bring up a fantastic point. Once top guys start playing guys and showing them off , the internet goes ablaze and all the try hards out there copy these guys and go nuts. But what really bothers me is the reality is these lists shouldn't even exist but apprently they do and Crapcom isn't ashamed to say it time and time again. On the Evo Stream Seth Killian and Ultradavid went on and on about how tiers are good for winning and how nothings wrong with them and how Capcom checks whos good and whos bad. And I'm just like , you know....it's 2011. Can't you just make a fighting game with a mechanic similar to a few others fighters to break out of crazy combos? If it doesnt connect , you're stuck in. I mean why go through the trouble year after year making lists seeing who's good at what when everyone can be equally as good. Do you know what kind of impact that would have on the fighting gaming world? I mean ideally nothing is perfect ever but that's why the system works because it can break you out of w/e.
I mean just think of all the different matches and characters and moves are ones aresenal you can see at a fighting game tounament , it'd blow peoples minds. I don't understand why companies like that with all the money they're making waste their time on such a stupid immature concept and not make a fighting game based around everyone being equally good. Would it make the game less fun? highly doubt it. I'm still to this day not convinced those Tier lists help them shape the game , but only harm it more. MvC3 is a fantastic example. But I'm sure most of you already knew that.

Tier lists are not irrelevent, people just don't realize they're irrelevent for the majority of players. Tiers only matter if you yourself are a toptier player. Tiers are about going first to 10, yountake the average scrub and it'll probably be ppretty even regardless of the characters. Most players should just shut up and play.

The videos that make me smile are when somebody goes to one of these high tournements and wrecks faces as the characters they love. Suddenly the crowd goes nuts and the fundementals of the game (JK) aka these lists are SHAKEN up

.

Actually, I haven't seen the lists shaken up all that much. I'd say most of the upper half of the cast is always in.
The Japanese often say that C. Viper doesn't really have a spot on the list, her placing is deemed solely by the player. Other than that, I'd say most tournament results are pretty consistent with the tier list, but the top 8 is usually Japanese dominated in international competition. Even then, it's argued that they generated the commonly quoted list to begin with anyways.
Ironically, as much as Daigo is responsible for putting Yun at the top, he still won a ton with Ryu, who was probably only mid tier during Super. If anything, tourneys show time and time again it's the player not the character that wins.
