[UM] EX Yamazaki

Post by PenPen » Thu Mar 27, 2008 15:26

The reason why I didn't post about him yet is because information is coming slowly.

qcb+A/B/C: 1 hit snake arm, and can't link from weak attacks anymore. If charged to max, Yamazaki will do "Big Snake." Not sure if anyone would fall for that though.
dp+P: Knife slash, Yamazaki leans forward and does a slash. Recovers really fast so it's quite safe to do on block. And if the position is good enough it makes him safe. It seems that when he hits, he'll do an extra slash.
qcf+P: Anti-fierball attack. B version sucks one in and if you repeat the motion afterwards, he'll throw one of his blood fierballs back. D version immediately does that instead of 'storing' one for you.
hcf+K: Counter move. Same as normal Yamazaki.
hcb,f+P: Grab move, exploding headbutt, same as normal Yamazaki. (Questionable since it's reported to be not with EX Yama)
dp+B: Overhead dust kick thingy. Same as normal Yamazaki. No sure if there's a D version.
d,d+B when opponent is down: OTG move. Stomps on opponent and Yamazaki laughs liek crazy, while he's laughing, I read that he's totally invincible.

qcfx2+P: Same as normal Yamazaki.
hcbx2+P: Same as normal Yamazaki, except that it can now go up to level 5. Level 5 requires you to press ABC when Yamazaki raises his hand once more. Note that when you reach level 3, you can just keep on mashing ABC together to reach level 5. Level 5 requires an additional stock.

His dp+b can be linked off weak attacks. Makes up for the fact that he can't snake arm off weak attacks I guess. Possibly better since its a hard knockdown.

d.B>d.A> dp+B> d, d+B seems to be his BnB combo.

Knife attack sounds like his RB knife attack.

Hopefully, safer :0

It looks lagless from the vids.

Also Yamazakis grab super is like rb2 it powers up to a final level....I read you hit ac(?) 4 times fast then Yama glows red and fires off 4 super fireballs.

:D

I would love to see that.

I think there was a scan with that, but I don't remember where I saw it.

Do you only have to be in Max Mode and have one stock (AKA executing the thingie as a SDM) to access that?

I cant remember I think Iggy (chan) posted the proper command for the super in the 98um thread at mmcafe ages ago. Might be lost to time... :(

Eh it's up at the top post.
Basically you do it normally, then keep mashing, and when you get to level 4 (based on Yamazaki's actions), you press ABC to get to level 5. That will need a stock.

Err no, basically you do the DM version normally, but if you want to do the level 5 thing, you need to use 1 more stock.

I guess this goes for the SDM version too.

Also update, apparently his qcb+C is OTG.

I tried Ex Yama for the first time when I had the machine to myself today.

BUT FOOOOCCKKK!!!! the joystick wasn't in good condition.

anyway, no D dust kick or headbutt throw for the EX version. I tried to do his lvl 5 but couldn't get the timing right.

so comboing into the SDM would take up 4 stocks? man that's costly............

This Ryuji sounds a bit disappointing. Beyond a couple of OTG things he hardly seems different at all. They could at least have given him his old DM commands. :P

it's not like the OTG things are very damaging either. it drains alot of time if your on the losing end ( good if you're winning though).

he loses the ability to combo from weak attacks, his special throw, so less guessing games from hopes with no meter. the range of his super or priority feels like it was weakened too since it seems to miss even when it looks like it would grab them too.

more like a try for some variety character. i don't think he's great for nabbing wins.

They should have gone with more of a Wild Ambition styled Ryuji with Shovel and his arm stab and whatnot.

never tried that but highly doubt he has dust fart and didn't see it in the faq when i skimmed it.

got his lvl 5 out. he flashes when it's activated. then proceeds to toss a bunch of his red fbs and ends with the usual hurricane uppercut. 14 hits total
