KOF'98 Ultimate Match General Discussion

No ReBout high-res sprites, it seems :/

However, what we do get is (thanks to CX):
- online play
- color edit
- choice between MVS and Arranged Mode which has character tweaks and...additional characters.
- The additional characters are Geese, Kasumi, Eiji and NESTS Kyo.
- Terry apparently has his Buster Wolf.

Man, is Eiji finally getting SNK love? Cause that'd be awesome. Screw NESTs Kyo, though, they should have put in another unique character :|

Maybe they're only the preliminary inclusions? They could do alot more than that with 98 having alternates of alot of character selectable. We should get MoTW Terry and 98 Terry seperate, and NESTS and Ash and 98 ...and 94 Kyo seperate. And all 12 (11?) of the Athena's! GO OVERKILL SNK! You did extra with Rebout's sprites, do something bigger here ;_;

Granted, 98 is already really good and healthy, but it'd help XP

Yeah, if they are selling the game seperate from thier collections, they should go crazy with it. Of course keep the original game, but an arrange mode with all sorts of extra stuff would really be the only reason for buying another home port of the game.

You know, given Iggy's new impressions (Goenitz being there, Kyo having 182 Shiki, Kasumi having super throw, Terry given Buster Wolf...) ..think they might be SvC ports?

I hope the game includes more extras like the dreamcast kof98 intro, various commercials and more modes like the PS2 MOTWolves time challange thing.

Kof94 rebout was void of many extras I hope they dont repeat the same mistake.

No Kof94 rebout type sprites? They must be focusing all there extra time into the new sprites for kofxii.

Eh well, KoF94 Rebout didn't have as many sprites per character as KoF gained in 96, let alone in 98. But I liked what 94 Rebout added, the 3D stages were nice looking, only there was WAY TOO many cameos around. The Orochi and NESTS story summarizations are sexy too (and everyone probably ignored them <_<), Color Edit is nice, the addition of 95 Saisyu was good...only that the AI didn't know how to fight him and could fall for the same things over and over and over. The modern training mode is good, and Team Edit's a good edition too.

There was no mistake made, they just didn't shower you with an uber amount of extras =P. It WAS 94 afterall, what did you want other than an art gallery?(save for balance tweaks..?)

And considering that they'd be thinking in passing the arranged '98 mode in the arcade? AAAAAAAHHHHH!!! The old school game with improvements and new characters/stages! That'd be a great time for challenges in your local arcade center!
