KOF 98 and KOF DM1999 (Dreamcast): How close are they?

I'm wondering how arcade perfect KOF Dreammatch 1999 is to KOF1998 MVS/AES. I remember someone telling me that in the US DC version (which I have), Iori lost his 100% combo. Can anyone elaborate?

I think I got he US version. I hate it. I don't know how else to say it other than I hate it. The BGM is like only 50 seconds and each new round they start again (one reason why I don't like NW). The game is the slowest out there. I can't even be bother to continue typing about how I hate this game. Yeah when it came out it was an innovation to add "depth" to the graphics (making lifebars / meter look three dimensional) but it didn't work ...

AFAIK combos would work but bugs probably taken out. Sorry if you didn't find this post useful but just stay away from this game

Well i also have the US version and i like it.

Although i do hate the fact that the BGM starts over in the beggining
of every round,i thing the gameplay is almost the same as in
arcades.

And speaking of bugs,i was once playing survivor mode using athena
and i did a shining crystal bit DM to iori,i then did the follow up of the
Dm witch is shooting the light ball ot whatever, and it missed
but the several light balls started shooting from the ground one at a time
ans most of them did hit iori, talk about weird huh?

Bye bye!

Though most people would have preferred the original sound track with no stopping, original backgrounds, and no loading times over the arranged soundtrack with stopping, 3D backgrounds, and loading times, it's a pretty good port of '98.

I was satisfied.

Good idea by SNK to go off with a awesome port. As stated above, it did have its' trouble, but, it stacked up pretty nicely. The option of implimenting a choice to play the original version should have been put into this one.
