i wasn't sure where to put this, but this thing i read sure brought my piss to a boil. this came from dustloop:

excuse me? who does this guy think he is? is this some kind of troll?

when honest players are trying to allow their games to grow by welcoming new players to support their scene and the games they choose to play, a douchebag like this has to pop off and drive away new support. yeah, some of you guys out there, you know who you are, too. and i know as well, because i do pay attention.

newsflash, the community is there to support the GAME they play, not your fucking ego. nobody made you boss so you could dictate who can and can't show up to a tournament--as long as they have the ante, it's fair game for anyone who can show up as long as they're well-behaved, right?

apparently, that's not the case! with elitist people like this guy, games should just die off in obscurity, then he can wonder "wtf nobody is playing the games i play, they are casual scrubs!!!"

the fighting game community is, i'm not sure if to say sometimes or more often than not, riddled with these egotistical dweebs who don't know when to not put their foot in their mouths, and i'm almost under the suspicion that they enjoy that foot in their mouths due to some autoerotic foot fetish thing going on.

the point is, you can't tell amateurish players to not show up and play the games you play and then whine when noone is playing your games. I'M LOOKING AT YOU, CERTAIN GUILTY GEAR PLAYERS.

people like you should be welcoming other people into the lot, and it really drives a lot of violent urges in me when i have to see petulent shit like this happen when i'm trying to get support for the games i play when some dustloop ninny like this tries to be the spokesperson for a community. like jamessmk implied, people like this guy don't speak for the community, but he is sure a counterproductive asshole in its realms.

see, i can talk about people without threatening bodily harm!
just kidding i do wish to challenge this guy to an irl fight i'm small as fuck and only 125 lb i'm sure he could take me no sweat

Look at it this way.

The fact they can press buttons better than most in a game may be the only thing that makes them stand out, therefore they will put down others in order to protect that.

Online play already drives people away from those things. I'm sure the guy doesn't even know what it was like before we had a choice.
