I can tell you from my own experience that it takes MUCH longer than a few days to become competent at KOF.
Exhibit A? Me. Been playing for 6 years and I still suck.

Sure! But... how is this specific to Kof and not generally applicable to every fighting game? That's the point right now.Sheba wrote:Not everyone have the luck to play at a very competitive area with very CHEAP arcades (2 euros a game in my area = WHAT! THE! FUCK!).

Cheap arcades here? Well... 1 credit = 1 MXP. And the dollar is @ 10.98 right now... well, do the math. Oh shit, yeah. And yes, Competitive level here is heavy as fuck.
And I didn't say it was a exclusive thing of the KOFs. See other really (even more) brainless crap like DOA or Bloody Roar (talking in general terms, not just 2D).

This thread has become FacJoe approved.
And I'm not talking about Mexico, I'm talking about you.
And anyone can talk about how good they are, when they don't have anything to back themselves up. Makes this thread turn into all those other threads you see 5 years ago. Not amusing.
At least before I talk or brag, I have things to help back me up. Heck, even arrogant bastards like Maan has something to back himself up, even when he thinks he rules the world.
There is only 2 things that I will ever agree with you. Flonne and KOF being easy.

WTF with this post? how/why did you combine those 2 things in one, they dont have anything to do with each other.Kyosuke Kagami wrote:D ranked player? Sorry, but no. Even today, Mexico's KOF players can be ranked among the best.
Maybe like this:
why not? he just said it happens all the time with new players that claim to be "good"(and it happens alllll the time).D ranked player? Sorry, but no.
yes, they can.Even today, Mexico's KOF players can be ranked among the best.

I never said those new players (that learn shit quickly) claim themselves as good :X
In fact, the only few players that are always presuming about their KOF shit play like crap. They're like the typical KOF fanboy that practice all the stupid time, but NEVER improve at all. And they cry like babies when someone not as fanboyed as them beats them.
As for me... I will never be anything extraordinaire in KOF, because I'm honestly not interested in being a top player. I just play XI to kill some time and to see my lolis AKA Marin chan and Whip... and yeah, Adel kun ;3

KOF is easy, I suppose. God/advanced combos on one game become staple fare in the next coupled with damage/stun reduction nonetheless.
KOFXI is easy in a sense too. It is also said to be similar to '97 in certain aspects.
Followed by another contentious post.
As to why I quoted that particular comment of yours, it is due to this.
In regards to you believing that Mexicans are among the best. I have not seen any sort of recognition/acknowledgment from other sources.
Perhaps they are truly the best on their continent. XD

KK: You post a lot of contentious content. When corrected or forced to provide evidence, you go, "I never said... I meant.."Kyosuke Kagami wrote:D ranked player? Sorry, but no. Even today, Mexico's KOF players can be ranked among the best.

Heck no. Colombia, Chile, Argentina and Peru also have good KOF players.
The latinamerican communities are way more... separated from the world itself, to put it in few words. Just see CX's (lol) space dedicated to L.A.
And considering that, out of those countries, the next country that has (very few) KOFs is the U.S., well...
US KOF players are terrible.

KK the next time you level up put all of your bonus points in understanding.Kyosuke Kagami wrote:And I didn't say it was a exclusive thing of the KOFs. See other really (even more) brainless crap like DOA or Bloody Roar (talking in general terms, not just 2D).
When i say every fighting game i mean every fighting game.
Beside i was quoting Sheba there. Not really even trying to argue with you anymore, it's like a broken record.

Not everyone have the eye-to-coordination and the ability to read a match to make his time at a 2D fighter easier.
1.
Cheaper arcades = more games to play, more chances to play the local top players, more opportunity to improve. I am actually envious of the 0.25$ or 0.50$ a game over the United States.
2.
Hand-to-eye coordination etc = It is like those artists who are naturally good at drawing because they have "an anatomy/space sense", it requires for them less time and effort to get good unlike one who don't have those.
3.
Reading a match = it help you to know WHEN your opponent is going for a high-low whoring, tick throw, trap, etc....
3D fighters, in general, seems to tap less into #2 and #3 than your next's door Street Fighter.
An untrained newbie can just win a Soul Calibur match with a Mitsurugi over someone who decently trained just by mashing and whoring the same command.
The same newbie will be raped by a decent Zangief if he tried to pull the same thing with Chun Li, Blanka or Ryu (by adding the shoto trap in the mix).
The same newbie again will be raped as Sol by Eddie or Johnny because he failed to see the Eddie's high low rape or Johnny's mist trap coming.
It may be a poor example, but that's what I had in mind.

I understand that and i agree Sheba. I still don't understand in which category you would qualify Kof, because i had the impression your first post was in defence of KK's position about it.
