Yay~! Sheba! wow

I'll try dig into Puella, I've been seeing a lot of related imagery of it around the webs, so that was the premise of it? Interesting.

The turning point is episode 3.
Also the music by Yuki Kajiura.

ehi Sheba ;)

Barely following anime anymore, but I'm always on the lookout for something interesting.
Enjoyed Princess Jellyfish quite a bit. I've seen it being defined as girl genshinken and it's fitting.
I just finished watching C The Money of Soul and Possibility Control. Nothing i would recommend, really, but it was strange enough that caught my interest. Basically it's a fighting anime with a money theme, and there are a few interesting concepts out there.
It's also a story about a guy that wants to fuck his pokemon, in a sense.

Managed to find the rest of Ghost in the Shell 2nd Gig. And I feel more satisfied tying all those loose ends.
I was quite surprised to find the rest of the series, but it was worth it. Honestly I don't know if I may ever get back into anime (new stuff).
Other titles on my must want list: Tenchi Muyo Ryo-ohki OVA3, and Rune Soldier complete.

Princess Jellyfish brought tears to my eyes.
Bakuman didn't really take off for me but I might try some more.
Denpa Onna is mildly interesting
Kore wa zombie desu ka was total fail
Still haven't finished Monster but it is looking to be a masterpiece, or at least an actual grown up anime thriller
House of Five Leaves was too slow
Tatami Galaxy was wonderful
Bakemonogatari was wonderful
Soredemo Macchi wa Matteiru was too slow to hold interest

but thanks to Sheba, Steins Gate shows promise after 3 episodes (I thought the test was 5 episodes? I always go with 5). I will be watching this one, once a week as usual hehe

I know right, that common feeling -

When i was scared and alone i never met a super hot crossdresser that taught me how to believe in myself

- and no IoriE doesn't count

In other news Maware Penguindrum looks very nice and is most certainly the definitive Pen anime.

Might as well do a quick roundup before this thread goes into hibernation again:

Maware Penguin Drum - not as confusing as I expected from Utena scribe, but just random enough to be intriguing.
Blood C - so far it's awful and the only thing going for it are the fight scenes.
Kamisama Dolls - pretty meh; guy from a small village has a little sister who controls her robotic "god" pokemon to do stuff. Premise is extremely generic and/or familiar, characters not too memorable.
Natsume Yuujinchou S3 - still a good watch, somewhat therapeutic. Everything I said about past seasons still stands.
Usagi Drop - it's about a guy who suddenly adopts a little girl and has to adjust to the sudden change in his lifestyle. So far it's being handled tastefully and she's a realistically cute kid, but for some reason I'm still not sure if I like it or not.

Steins Gate was alright before it decided to pull 5 consecutive by-the-book harem episodes

Too lazy to look back through the thread to see if anyone's mentioned it before.
So, have any of you guys seen Deadman Wonderland?
If not, you should. It's glorious.

Maware has the best season opener I have seen for a long long time, simply because it doesn't follow any stereotypical storyline and I won't need to watch the 2nd episode because of the 5 eps rule - I actually want to know what will happen next. And it has penguins.

Kamisama Dolls was pretty awful. Definitely Pokemon fare.

Kamisama no Memochou looks a little more interesting.

I'll check out Natusme and Premise, later.

Through youtube comments I am also looking at Gosick, No 6, Nichijou (just because they call it an Azumanga clone).

Nearly looked up Dantejin thingy by Gainax but reviews made me just ditch it.

Steins Gate is getting a little dull (eps 8 I think).

Denpa Otoko is obligatory Shaft colour design rose tinted knees cute eye candy.

Deadman Wonderland is already done? I swear I only saw the preview a few months ago. Will check it out, heard some good things about... the preview.

Btw, I just watched Tokyo Godfathers by Satoshi Kon. It's a really good film. Really good. Annoyed at myself for only watching it because he passed away. Perfect Blue was good for its time, Paprika is next. Of course, already seen Paranoia agent.

*realizes that's the last anime he watched*

*buggers off*

I don't know if anyone here has seen Redline, but:

Redline.

It's like payback for all the time wasted watching shitty anime. The only problem is: what can I watch after this marvel?

I think I finally "get" Usagi Drop now. I wasn't sure what to think of it at first because it's definitely slice-of-life and the kind of things you usually want to happen in an anime just don't happen very often on this show. That can spell boredom for a lot of people. But now I realize that the story, the characters, and the setting are all speaking to an entirely different set of values from other anime. It's not about relationships anymore, it's all parenting. The value of a character in this show, no matter what they can do otherwise, is in how good of a parent they are. The kids and what they do - be it cute or annoying or dumb - don't really matter, as long as they're alive and growing, and in many ways they end up representing an extension of their parents. Or in the main character's case, he sees aspects of himself in someone else's child.

The thing that's most interesting about it is that there's just no anime like it that I know of. The closest comparison I can think of is Clannad: After Story, but even that was a lot more about Touma riding the wave of his relationship as far as it would take him and was portrayed in more epic fashion. Usagi Drop isn't nearly as dramatic, though when something bad happens (even a minor thing) it can seem that way because the main character takes his role very seriously.

Anyway if you're looking for something different to watch and aren't looking for a complex plot, it's good.

I wish I could say it was the best thing ever, and it certainly looked good, but the story was kind of dumb. And a bit slow, ironically.

HOTD High School Of The Dead
Just started watching this and I must say it very interesting the first episode alone got me hooked.
Most of the zombie stuff is coming out of america just got done reading World War Z great book to pick up if you enjoy zombies. Gonna be turned into a movie Brad Pitt starting in it cant wait to see it.
Anyways back to HOTD kinda nice to see the japanese perspective on the whole zombie craze. So not to bore anyone gonna hit the key points that I like about the series.

1. Zombies; great animation on the movement, mannerism(which isnt much hah), etc
2. Fan Service; Most of the girls on the show have big boobs no suprise haha plus lot of panty shots ;) . One character ex: the nurse is strictly just fan service a dumb blonde with a big rack.
3. Violence pretty nice

Great anime so far cant wait to see the rest.

Shame on me for not watching it sooner, but I'm going to get down to watching Akira. I grabbed the DVD at JB Hi-Fi on an impulse buy, so I may as well go with it.
Besides, the movie just had that much more appeal because K9999 is in it! What? K9999's name is Tetsuo?
K9999 is a copy of Tetsuo... EVERYTHING IS A LIE!!!!!
