Bumping this to post a pretty interesting article I read over at Ars Technica:
http://arstechnica.com/articles/culture/gettingfit.ars

So, it IS possible to use DDR as a weight-loss aid, heh. XD

DDR is like the dancing game that takes LESS calories.

Pump and ITG would work better.

Please don't turn this into a DDR vs Pump vs whatever dance game thread, please. That's not the point of it at all. -_-

Slightly modifying your diet would do much more than simply adding DDR to your repertoire of played games.

The author didn't just add it to the list of games he played - he used it as part of his daily workout in addition to another PS2 workout-type game and played it for an extended period every day over a period of a number of weeks, and noticed that he WAS losing weight at a good rate.

In addition, just modifying your diet slightly isn't going to help all by itself.

It is if your diet is horrendous in the first place. You won't get a hot body without exercise, but it will make a difference.
