I wonder if it is move to protect the idiots who walk into traffic (who are the ones at fault), or if it is a move to protect drivers who's cars would be damaged. Either way, it is going too far. Apparently people aren't able to be left alone on a matter of being responsible.

What? Are they going to have cops at every single street corner checking for people with iPods or what?

How about asking them to LOWER THEIR GODDAMN iPODS. Damn, people are stupid.

What's the big deal? There were similar complaints when Sony Walkmans were introduced.

Well, I agree with it to some extent. On the road, people who take their eyes off the road for extended periods while driving are a danger to everyone, and should be fined as reckless drivers. People who do it on the sidewalk, though, are only a danger to themselves. In that case they should just be educated on the dangers of what they're doing.

Hmmn, makes actual sense.

Avoids the blame being put on to the government. :P

Jaywalking has been illegal in the US for a while. Go to any city and see how well they deal with THAT.
Oh, and the "n-word" is now banned in the US, though the govt even admits it's a symbolic thing.
So what's the point?
