When should we not use it?<\/p>\n<p>In this part, we will cover point<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Future &amp; Continuous action<\/li>\n<li>Plans<\/li>\n<li><strong>Decisions I<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Decisions II<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Opinions\u00a0 \/\u00a0<\/span>Predictions<\/li>\n<li>Future Perfect<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>Decisions I<\/h1>\n<p>There are three ways to express decisions:\u00a0 <strong>I will<\/strong>,<strong> I am going to <\/strong>&amp;<strong> I was going to.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Of course you can also say, <em>I decided to<\/em> or <em>I have decided to,\u00a0<\/em>but using <strong>will<\/strong> and <strong>going to<\/strong> is more usual.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h1>Decision now = I will<\/h1>\n<p>Use future simple to express an action in the future.<br \/>\nThe <strong>future simple<\/strong>\u00a0is also used to <strong>express a decision that is made now<\/strong>, often as a reaction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>subject + will + infinitive without to<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You see an old person with a heavy suitcase near the stairs.\u00a0 You say:<br \/>\nO: <strong>I&#8217;ll<\/strong> <strong>help<\/strong> you<br \/>\nX: I help you<br \/>\nX: I am helping you<\/p>\n<p><em>Reminder: I will (formal) = I&#8217;ll (casual)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When you decide to do something, even if the action starts as you say it, we still use the future simple.<em>\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; I woke up late, please tell the tournament organiser!<br \/>\nX: OK, I do that!<br \/>\nO: OK, <strong>I&#8217;ll do<\/strong> that!<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Well, it&#8217;s late, I have to go.<br \/>\nX: I call a taxi.<br \/>\nO:\u00a0<strong>I&#8217;ll call<\/strong> a taxi.<\/p>\n<p>-You&#8217;ve forgotten to register.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">-Ah, <strong>I&#8217;ll do<\/strong> that now.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As a reaction, use future simple to express a decision made now.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>No, I won&#8217;t give you my ice cream!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.orochinagi.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/by.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-256\" src=\"https:\/\/www.orochinagi.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/by.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1353\" height=\"659\" srcset=\"https:\/\/orochinagi.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/by.jpg 1353w, https:\/\/orochinagi.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/by-300x146.jpg 300w, https:\/\/orochinagi.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/by-768x374.jpg 768w, https:\/\/orochinagi.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/by-1024x499.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>Decision before = I&#8217;m going to<\/h1>\n<p><strong>I&#8217;m going to<\/strong> <strong>watch<\/strong> the next episode right now!<\/p>\n<p>This is different to the future simple.\u00a0 This expresses <strong>a decision that was made in the past.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>subject + (to be) + going + (to infinitive)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I am going to<\/strong> <strong>watch<\/strong> the next episode = <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I have decided to<\/span> watch the next episode.
