Sorry for double postin. So what's everyone's thoughts on these rumored DLC characters? I'm kinda not bothered by it. I mean didn't SNKP basically say they were going to have 3 DLC characters that were suped up versions of pre existing ones? I'm kinda stoked for Mr.Karate if he's different not gonna lie. :)

i'm not as bothered so much by the fact that we're getting shin akuma and 99 kyo as i am bothered by the fact that they meant to keep such a thing secret and have people fantasizing about who the silhouettes could be. i mean, if they were already familiar faces, why not have just announced them at the start? i made a post about this on the 20th of august at mmcafe actually:
...and as well, be careful about using hype with words like "surprising" when it turns out the result isn't so "surprising", because I'm already seeing people complain about the results hardly being surprising.
what i'm saying is, surprising would have been like, chizuru, or more extreme, some character from metal slug (as if), or a character from kizuna encounter or world heroes or some other snk/adk game. or SHERMIE. she's dead, so her coming back would be surprising, especially alone.

POISON for sfxtekken is a surprising entry. EAGLE in cvs2 was a surprising entry. KYOSUKE KAGAMI in cvs2 was a surprising entry. SHERMIE was an odd choice for ngbc, nobody would have thought she'd be the sole selected character out of cys to be in a game like that, so it was really some testament to either her popularity or snk's then fondness of her character.

as a counter-example, think about the number of world heroes characters they could have used for ngbc. they used mudman, which was pretty okay. but then they turned around and gave us both hanzo AND fuuma. seriously? where was rasputin? janne? johnny maximum? hanzo and fuuma were just insulting, especially since they literally were the ryu and ken of the world heroes universe.

i described the reaction to this surprise before as, imagine you're excited because you have a tv show you keep up with every week, so you rush home to watch it. you excitedly charge into your house and jump onto your couch recklessly and grab the remote and switch it to the station. then, you see that it's a rerun, and you just think to yourself, "oh." and you rushed in all for nothing, basically.

snkp understandably doesn't have a high budget or lot of manpower so that's the only way i can understand it, but i still fail to see these as "surprising" and it's more a matter of linguistics and marketting approach. if '99 kyo and mr. karate is all that we've been waiting to reveal, then snkp shouldn't be so secretive about them! they should have revealed them at the start, made people upset, and give people time to let their own butthurt settle so they can get back to being interested in kofxiii again. some people were pretty iffed about these reveals, which tells me they really should have not even bothered silhouetteing these choices.

"i wanted vanessa/yamazaki/blue mary/rock/geese!" "i thought that was may lee, wtf!" "another kyo? more clones again?" "THEY ALREADY HAVE A MR. KARATE!!!" different special moves or not, you have to understand why people were iffed about mr. karate. if they have future dlc characters down the road that are more fresh, or if they're already starting to work on kofxiv, then mr. karate won't be so bad, as long as he's a springboard for what people really want, like uh, blue mary and yamazaki for instance. but if this is part of snkp's swansong, it's really painful to the ears. again, they shouldn't be so secretive and use words like "surprising" for this.

even with the leaked reveals, people just don't feel like talking about it much, that's testament as to how exciting the choices were. it's also testament to my sentiment that they shouldn't be so secretive about nonsurprising entries, with people saying things like "snk sure pulled a CAPCOM on this one".

Yeah I have to agree with you on that. I think silhouetting them wasn't exactly the smartest move from an "everything" standpoint , but what ya gonna do. I guess in some ways it did lead to hype , just not in the way one would think it'd conclude. I mean honestly people can't really complain. They don't have to buy them nor did SNKP have to really make these for anybody , but it's the concept of them making extra characters (even being pre-existing ones) for everyone is just an awesome thing. Usually if a company like Crapcom pulled this off everyone would be very angry at them with all the past stuff they've pulled. But SNKP has a reason be it financially or fanbase wise , it doesn't really bother some people like myself because of their position.

I mean I think it's hard for them NOT to do DLC characters for this game. Nothing has been stated yet right? I mean you got threads like this on Atlus basically giving them a cheat sheet on who people would purchase and play , I certianlly like who I see on top IMO.

http://www.atlus.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9335" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I just hope these 3 sell well or decent for that matter , and I just hope the game overall sells well enough to perhaps deal out some characters. Seriously I think the last thing SNKP needs to do is prepare itself for the next iteration IMO. They need to finally get their fanbase and their game more well established and taken seriously accross the world (esp over here in the U.S) and the way fighting games finally made a comeback and how Crapcom is on a bended knee , this is the best time to do it. I think they should try to do some DLC characters , maybe some stages if all is well that is. It always comes down to if the game sells well and if they see something as profitable.

On a plus side , I think there's still one more console exclusive character to reveal , so who knows who it could be. I agree though , a nice shock would be mucho appreciated. IDK I'm still a sucker for flames Iori and a Mr.Karate if done different XD. Shin Akuma is cool but Mr.Karate just comes off so much more amazing. I grow tired of Akuma.

Oh well, at least their is still Billy. I really don't see many newcomers to KOF buying these shin characters. I see them buying Saiki and Billy though.

Be thankful they are not forcing us to buy more characters to fill up the roster. I still feel bummed out about that other companies bone headed move.

Sir would you be more kind & become more specific as due to my ignorance & bad search abilities I am unable to locate it, I've tried changing the language as I can understand English only, I went down all the way but I guess they have more updates now or I am not sure. Please help me out with this & kindly share your usual support. Thank you very much for your previous guidance & attention :)

Forgive my colleagues. Here is what you are looking for. If that doesn't work, this is a good alternative site. You can always try here if you really want it. I wouldn't recommend it, though.

lol, you guys are so mean.

riisaam, in case you haven't read the forum rules, we don't permit linking to, offering or asking for illegal ROMs/dumps.

That said, do follow Anti-K's links and preorder the game for 360 or PS3 :)
