Re: Silent Hill Origins PS2
Watched a complete playthrough of Silent Hill Homecoming. Game is not bad, atmosphere is nice, reminds of SH2 lite. Some new monsters are good but i doubt there's any backstory to them. Combat looks like a chore, some monsters can get a dozen of hits before they die, some can guard, some can evade, while the system doesn't look really more advanced than past games other than a dodge button. Level design looks pretty bland, with a lot of filler.
The story is kinda Silent Hill the movie + torture porn movies(Saw, Hostel, etc.), so rationalizing it's fair to say that it sucks pretty hard. Dialogue is pretty decent overall but a bit silly in places, and man there's a black sidekick - you'll never guess what's going to happen to him!
I hate how every single female character has long hair tied back, i know it's a general western problem with 3d modeling, but damn, i'm pretty sick of it.
Overall i'd say it was well worth watching a playthrough for free on youtube, but only if you skip a bit here and there.
And here's a nice review from that guy from the internet whom name escapes me at the moment:

Re: Silent Hill Origins PS2
SH:O was meant to be played on the PSP. As a portable game it's amazing. The PS2 port is poor in lotsa ways.
