Yeah Kaggra has consistently put out good music since they formed. They do have the problem of the usual jrock fantards that hear with thier eyes. "Oh they don't look the same after going major so their sound sucks now". I've always thought that jrock would be great without the fans.
So, on the day of Hyde's US release of Faith I ordered it and Dir en Grey's Withering to Death from amazon.com (and it was delivered in like 3 days, so that was hot) for about 25 bucks total. After listening to both albums again (I sort of put off listening to both very much because I knew I was going to buy them), I have to say I liked them both more than I did initially. I guess I didn't give Withering to Death enough of a chance after the first couple of songs.
As far as bonuses go, they are both pretty good. Faith came with a DVD with the music videos for both of the albums singles, and Withering to Death came with a DVD with four music videos and a bunch of partial clips from their Vulgar tour from 2004, which I didn't know it came with; so that was cool.

and contrary to the fan girls' and boys' opinions, i think kagrra's new look is much better ;p it still retains a traditional japanese feel but without the prancing around in kimonos and looking like geisha
i like kagrra's synthesis of traditional japanese instruments. for example one of the guitarists knows how to play the koto and they use it in some of their songs, like meguru.
and besides their use of instruments, many of their compositions sound like they came straight out of the pentatonic scale used in traditional music. amazing stuff.
but the best thing is that kagrra actually seems to be increasing the awareness of traditional culture among young japanese! LMAO
speaking of withering to death, deg never fails to surprise me with their incredible "contrast" ;p on one hand we have stuffs like garbage (very aptly named) and beautiful dirt. and on the other we have great songs like the final, dead tree, itoshisa wa fuhai ni tsuki and kodou.

Inoran recently put out a solo album, Photograph. It's pretty damn good. Nice laid back stuff, the sound is somewhere between Tourbillon and Sugizo's solo stuff. Which reminds me, Tourbillon's second full album is coming out next month, so I'm looking forward to that.
I finally heard Nightmare's new double single of Alumina and the WORLD. It's typical good Nightmare stuff. Nightmare is slowly progressing and making more an more complex music, which is nice. Too bad they are the opening and ending for Death Note (which is a good show but that's not really the point), because the last thing I need is for people to associate my taste for music with other japanese stuff. Between this and L'arc's themes for Full Metal Alchemist, I'm going to be tired of telling people that cookies are better than pocky and Inuyasha is poorly written, but I suppose it comes with the territory of being a resonable Jrock fan.
