god i miss HK so much.. hopefully next year i ll be in China (Jinhua) to improve my mandarin so i might find some competion there (i think i ll find some 97 cabinets..at least i hope) or in Shanghai

oh nobody touches kof 12 lol. blazblue has more customers than kof 12……..the top money bringers are sf4 and t6 even though they are at a whopping 1 dollar!

Ah! I remember running around New York and I thought to myself, if there’ll be a KOF machine, it’ll be in Chinatown – and I was happily right! Although.. bat sticks on 98… !
I get baffled by anything that’s not ball stick and ABCD or PS2 layout – oh snap (which is same in Japan)!
So they have 12 now? That’s pretty good considering arcades right now! Hope it stays alive…

hey Gun nope in New York where the only arcade center left is chinatown fair unfortunately. From my last visit to there, it only had kof 96,98, 2000, 2002, and 12. ppl only play 98 and 2002 of course………. man i could never get used to the HK button layout. I’m so used to the official neogeo ABCD or ps2 4 button layout. LOL at the cosplay girls in arcade picture.

Very nice post Pen! People that might go into Guangzhou (China) from HK for some KOF98 action might want to take note their layout is the same as HK in that the D is below the A.

I think the arcades in Guangzhou generally take tokens and I have seen dudes just playing on the machine wth a stack of tokens … heck I did it with sf4 when I was there too hahaha.

The rule for “I’m next” though seems a bit different you would literally place your token into the machine giving the person no choice but to leave so strict!
